He had arrived early enough to reconsider. On the table lay a folded letter, a cup left untouched, and a watch with two crowns. One kept the hour. The other offered a small promise: when the moment came, it would not pass unnoticed.
Outside, the street carried on without him. He read the first line again, then folded the letter along its familiar crease. There was still time to leave. There was also time to stay.
He turned the watch toward the light. The little triangle on the inner dial seemed to point beyond the next minute, toward something he had put off for years.
When the door opened, he did not check the time.

Eric identifies the case as gold-filled and the strap as Hirsch genuine lizard, and reports that the watch and alarm both work. Available at $995 including the strap.
